Join your local writing chapter. In my case, I joined Romance Writers of America. For a year, I was terrified to attend a local meeting—I was afraid they would laugh in my face! But when I finally got the courage to go, I met my critique partner, Tatia Totorica. Because of her help, I became a Golden Heart finalist (twice).
