Chapter Seven
A blush crept up her cheek. “You always so sure of yourself, Maverick?” Her green eyes glowed. Flirting? Check. Was she moving closer to him? Suddenly their legs touched. He could almost feel the softness of her outer thigh against his leg. Warm, inviting.
Well, damn. Suddenly the night seemed a whole hell of a lot more interesting.
The Material Girl wrapped a bit of hair around her finger, her red lips quirking up in a smile. “You sure it’s just not you who wants to kiss me?”
Boy, this woman was gorgeous.
“Oh, I know I want to kiss you, too. That’s why it would be a tragedy if we don’t.” He grinned. “Besides, if we don’t, then we’ll get to your destination, and we’ll awkwardly stare into each other’s eyes and then Paul will get upset, and… I mean, we can’t upset Paul. That’s just rude.”
Paul glanced at Hunter in the rearview and grinned.
“Oh, well, if it’s for Paul’s sake.” Material Girl took the cross around her neck and wrapped the chain once around her finger. “Why didn’t you say so?”
She bit her full pink lower lip. This was a woman who knew what she wanted. He liked that.
Oh, it was on. He looked at the woman’s full lips, just parted. He would give her a kiss of a lifetime, he thought, one that would leave her begging for more.
“For Paul,” he said, moving closer to her.
“For Paul,” she murmured, lips so close to his, they were almost touching.
